Thur. Oct 20, 2016 Literacy Day

posted Oct 7, 2016, 11:54 AM by Mary Page

Grade 10 students will be writing their literacy test online for the first time.
Grade 11 and 12 classes - study hall in the cafeteria with teacher supervision.
Grade 9 classes will run as normal.

No Technology Day -we need to minimize any technology interruptions for the Grade 10 students who are writing the test using wifi.

The schedule for the day is as follows for Grades 9 and 10:

8:25 - 9:45 Period 1
9:45 - 10:00 Break
10:00 - 11:20 Period 2
11:20 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 1:40 Period 4
1:44 - 2:52 Period 5

Passing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test is a graduation requirement. There will be another opportunity for our students to write in March.

There are lots of resources available, including practice online tests, that I strongly suggest our students do over the next 2 weeks.  The practice test is at this link  Link to Practice Literacy Test and click on English Session 1 and English Session 2 for the test.  There are also lots of resources worth exploring on the EQAO website
