Grade 11, 12 and 12+ HDSB students and families,
The Halton District School Board would like to invite you to participate in the Exploring Post-Secondary Pathways event hosted at Sheridan College - Trafalgar Campus (1430 Trafalgar Road, Oakville) on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 23 or Thursday, Oct. 24. The event has been designed specifically for Grade 11, 12 and 12+ HDSB students and a parent/guardian.
One parent/guardian and Grade 11-12+ student(s) per family will be invited to attend on one of the two days in one of the time slots available: 5 - 6:30 p.m. or 7 - 8:30 p.m. in order to explore future post-secondary pathway options. The event will include representatives from post-secondary institutions and organizations representing all post-secondary pathways (apprenticeship, college, community, university and work) who will be on hand to share information and answer questions. A post-secondary planning workshop to accompany the event learning will also be recorded and shared to all participants before the event as well as on the HDSB.ca Transition to Post-Secondary page.
OSAP Application Info
Full Disclosure: Monday, November 25th, 2024
To ensure all drop requests are processed in Aspen, our internal MMR deadline is Friday, Nov 24th.
What is Full Disclosure?
The Ministry of Education has a policy of full disclosure. This policy states that all grade 11 and 12 courses attempted by students must be recorded on Ontario Student Transcripts. Full disclosure does not apply to students in Grade 9 or 10 courses.
Here in HDSB, our Guide To Secondary School says:
Full Disclosure – Following the Full Disclosure date (each semester) any Grade 11 or 12 course completed, dropped or failed will appear on a student transcript along with the marks earned in the course. Full Disclosure occurs five instructional days after the issue of the mid-semester Provincial report card. Full disclosure does not apply to Grade 9 or 10 courses
Now with midterm marks, senior classes can make an informed decision as to if a course should be dropped or not by Friday, Nov. 24th.
If there are any questions, please talk to your Guidance Counsellor or make a guidance appt.
